Finding Focus For Districts
Build the foundation everything else depends on
When students can focus and take care of their mental health, everything else gets easier.

The Challenge
Two crises. One timeline.
Student inattention and mental health issues have risen dramatically over the last 15 years, and they're more connected than most people realize.
When students can't direct their attention, they can't step back from the thoughts and emotions that overwhelm them. The fallout reaches every teacher and classroom.
Our Approach
A proven Tier 1 platform for student focus and mental health
This interactive, personalized course teaches students how to strengthen their attention and use their focus to regulate emotions. It takes just 80 minutes spread across ten short lessons.
The Focus Coach is where daily practice builds lasting skills. During any independent work period, students use the Focus Coach to practice strengthening their attention while doing the work they already have to do. It requires zero additional instructional time and can be used in any class, any subject, all year long.
Teachers get built-in facilitation tools and a tracking dashboard to monitor student progress and Focus Coach activity across their classes. The Foundations of Focus course and the Focus Coach are also helpful for educators themselves — teachers can use the tools to strengthen their own focus and well-being.
District and school administrators get a dedicated portal for managing rollout and monitoring program activity across every school — with full SSO and rostering support. We also provide professional development for teachers and ongoing implementation support so your team is never on its own.

The Evidence
8 peer-reviewed studies and counting
Finding Focus is one of the most rigorously tested student programs available — with research funded by the U.S. Department of Education and conducted by researchers across more than a dozen universities.
Studies have found significant improvements in classroom engagement and standardized reading scores, as well as emotional regulation and symptoms of anxiety and depression.

The Priority of Focus
Too little time isn't the issue
The real constraint on student learning isn't how much time teachers have — it's how much students can absorb.
A student's ability to focus is like a pipe — and for many students, that pipe has been getting narrower for years.
Finding Focus makes it wider, so more of what's being taught actually gets through.
The result is more fulfilled teachers and better returns on every other investment your district makes.

FAQ
Your questions, answered.
The Focus Coach works in any class that includes independent or group work, making it applicable across subjects and grade levels. The Foundations of Focus course can be placed wherever it fits best in your curriculum — we’ll work with your team to find the right home for it.
The Foundations of Focus course takes about 80 minutes total, spread across ten short lessons. The Focus Coach doesn’t require any additional instructional time — students use it during the independent work they’re already doing.
The Foundations of Focus course shows measurable benefits in classroom focus and student mental health within weeks. The Focus Coach has been shown to increase focus from students’ very first session, with benefits growing over continued use. Because it’s built into the work students are already doing, it becomes a sustainable part of classroom culture — not a one-time intervention.
The ability to direct attention is foundational to emotional regulation. When students can’t control their focus, they can’t step back from the thoughts and emotions that overwhelm them. By strengthening attentional control, students gain a core skill for managing stress, regulating emotions, and maintaining their mental health. This connection between attention and well-being is central to how Finding Focus was designed.
Our core program — including the Foundations of Focus course and the Focus Coach — is free for all teachers and students, funded by grants and philanthropic support. We also offer district-level features at no cost, including SSO and rostering integrations, an admin dashboard, analytics, and dedicated implementation support. These are available to districts who partner with us to help shape and improve the program.
